A Season of Gratitude

Fall Bouquet

At this time of year, many people talk about giving thanks, and sometimes I wonder, “To whom will they give thanks?”

James reminds his readers of the Source of every good thing given:

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.         James 1:17 (NASB)

Now and then, I realize I should exercise my gratitude muscle more. Brody helps me remember how thankful we should be on a daily basis for our lives. Our holy, perfect God gives us so much better than we sinners deserve!

Here is one of our super simple gluten-free additions to any meal…. raw cabbage with mini sweet peppers. I used to dislike raw cabbage, but when I heard that it was good for us, I decided to try it, and my taste buds adjusted to enjoy it! Brody sometimes adds raisins to his cabbage for a simple side dish in his lunch.

We can be grateful that God designed our eyes to see beautiful colors and gave us tastebuds with the capacity to enjoy various tastes.
